Sarah P. gives me the Heebie Jeebies...

Hey there everybody!

Have you heard the news about the vice presidential candidate for the republicans? Well there she is. Aint she lovely? She looks different without her glasses on, now don't she? What a fine choice of fashion wear she has made for herself, too. I hear it's cold where she lives and probably spends a  lot of the states money keeping her self warm. Which makes sense if you were born with the body temperature of a reptile. That's ok. I'm sure she won't have to change her dress code anytime soon. I don't think she is going anywhere but back home to Wasilla, Alaska this coming NOvember. Anyway, let me get to the point I was intending to make, here on line, while I have your attention. It seems that Ms. Palin is terrifying a lot of American people. That might make her a virtual terrorist, I 'm not too sure. But what I do know is that Obama is not threatening anybody at all. You see, what Ms. Palin is giving us is the Heebie Jeebies. It's a symptom of a disease that some folks are just born with. Especially in American politics. The Heebie Jeebies feels like someone has emptied all of your closet nightmares into your pillow case. Then as you sleep they crawl in a single file line right into your ear hole! Aint that creepy?! I get the shakes just thinking about it! Well to remedy this particular feeling I composed an antidote. Because that's what I do as a musician.
So here ya go ladies and gentlemen...
...my song called...

Enjoy your time on earth...I did!

Nina Simone

Hello! How you doin' today?!
Good?
Good...

That lovely lady is Nina Simone. A piano playing singer/song writer type of gal. Look at her...aint she wonderful already?! I think so, too. And you aint even heard nothin' yet. Nina Simone has a history that is simply marvelous. She started recording back in 1958 and didn't stop until the 80's. She has a reputation for not being particulary attached to a certain style or genre of music. So talented is she that even when listening to her version of "Strange Fruit", one can almost imagine a ray of hope and sunshine in her voice.Put your seatbelt on when you listen to that song, by the way. That song is devasting to behold. It was originally a Billy Holiday classic, as I recall.

Nina Simones most famous recording, I think, was when she did Gershwins " I loves you Porgy" from the Porgy and Bess soundtrack. Anyway...I could go on forever about Nina Simone!
So I'll stop right here and maybe continue this later on...

Hurri-McCain

Hey everybody, how ya doin?
Good?

I think that if you are a democrat, you would be feelin' good right about now. Especially after last weeks speech by our president to be, Obama. I was almost cryin' tears of joy, when I heard him speak last Thursday. America has been waiting 232 years to hear that speech from a presidential candidate. Even here in Netsville I would say that I almost had a 400MB tear count, which is a lot of virtual water to be pixelatin' about.

Well...speaking of water...New Orleans is getting ready for Hurricane Gustav to show up. And we New Orlean natives know a little somethin' about that, as you may probably understand. The newspapers are reminding us about that particular fact. Here is part of an article I found from way over in San Francisco's on line news service:

"McCain, his wife Cindy, and his running mate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, toured the emergency management center in Mississippi, a state that could be hit hard by the approaching hurricane.

The Bush White House and Republicans in general are still shadowed by criticism of their handling of relief efforts after Hurricane Katrina, which devastated New Orleans and parts of the Mississippi Gulf Coast three years ago. Party leaders fear that televised scenes of celebrations and partying at the convention could subject them to similar criticism now."

Looks like the hurricane don't want McCain, huh? McCain didn't plan on THIS, now did he. And so it looks like the republicans are gonna have to experience a little karmic responsibility, as they have to post pone their coven meeting.

Meanwhile, this song is already runnin' through the good folks minds about LAST hurricane.

Butt pads

Hey everybody!
How y'all doin' today?
Good?

I was readin' this here article that I found on the googly web. It made me look in the mirror with a thought that has never crossed my mind before , as a man. And remember, I'm not even alive, technically. But regardless of my virtuality, there I was...staring over my shoulder wondering about my own backside! How many times have you heard a woman ask you about the shape and the weight of theirs? And how important it is to them and how RIDICULOUS it sounds to you.
To turn around and read an article about, now this is what it says....you ready for this? Butt pads! For men!
Some lady in Indianna told her husband that he is, uh...lacking in the back pocket area. Not the usual wallet biz, but the actual shape of that area! And you know what he did? He went out and bought himself a new ass! S' cuse me for such indecency, but THIS is what you people of 2008 are throwin' on the proverbial pile, round here!

(sigh)
Here is a quote from the article...
" At Butt For You, Christman says, 17,ooo butt pads were sold last year, a 39.4 percent increase over 2006. The customer base is 85 percent male. "

I wonder what kind of an audience musicians think you people are these days...
And now...
A song.

Like water for chocolate...

Hey y'all, how ya doin' today?
Good, I hope.

Seems to me that if you are trying to gather some good tid bits of information, the pickins is gettin' kinda slim. Now don't let yourself get all hot and bothered with bad news. You know it aint never gonna leave, right? You know that don't cha? That's why some of us have to go searchin' for ourselves for some good news out there. I found some today at www.sfgate.com.

Yessiree, I got to readin' about the olympic games and found out some things that made me feel good about myself and my fellow country men. And especially women.
Ms. Natalie Coughlin. Such a pretty name, too. She has done somethin' special for us all to remember for the rest of our lives. Two gold medals in a row. Two! I figure if she wins three she could have a new set of gold trumpet valves! That would really excite me. Aint this news some kind of wonderful? Don't you just want it to last forever?  Especially when you got some other folks talkin' about other things that aint so good. Like a big old mighty powerful country invading a tiny little insignificant, powerless country. No, no, no...I aint talkin' about us and the middle east. That's old news. I'm talkin' about what's his name, the soon to be ex president of the united states. The way he 's talkin' about Russia makes you wonder if he sees what he is doin his own self, huh?
So that's why it's best to keep searchin' for some good news, here in Netsville. And when you find some, it makes you want to look for some more. So when you read about Natalie Coughlin,
keep searchin'. I bet you'll find somethin' on Michael Phelps, too. So far, all these sports in the water are being dominated by American swimmers.  I can't wait to have a president worthy of delivering speeches to depict this national pride. I guess you could say it 'll be like water for chocolate...

No water for Golfin'

Hey everybody!
How y'all doin' today?
Good I hope.
http://www.golfcanada.com/images/golf-courses/blackhawk-15green.jpg

Guess what? Golfers in Blackhawk are drillin' for oil!
Aint that strange?
You would think that in such rich a community that they could just go out and buy some. But supposedly in California, there is an oil drought.
Here check out the article....
I'll wait til you finish readin'...

(whistlin'...)

What?
Water?!
They runnin' outta WATER?!
In Califonia?! BLACKHAWK CALIFORNIA!?!
How in the heck they do that?! Aint ALL them golfin' folks employed?
Maybe they just lost the water. Y' know some of us don't keep up with our eye prescriptions like we supposed to. And you know how water be lookin'...sometimes it just blends in with everything else...
mmm mmm mmm...boy that gives me a funny feelin' bout them rich Californians...

McCain Is No Tech Freak...

McCain says that he is no " tech freak "

Say it aint so. I understand that in this crazy world of technology, it is getting harder and harder to keep up with the speed that people maintain.

So some of us pooled our pennies (from heaven) together and got you a gift so that you can gradually enter the world of advanced techno freaks.
Slowly and surely, as you sit for the next four years with nothing to do, you will be able to acclimate to the climate of modern technology...or maybe underwater basket weaving...

Still in rehab for Wineouse hubby

Hello everybody!  How are y'all doin today?
Good I hope.

Now, first of all, she is a very talented, grammy award winning, singer from the UK. Beautiful voice, I tell ya...
I youtubed a video of her not too long ago and I must say that she is also what we would call the cat's meow.

Now...the problem with being young, beautiful, rich and talented is that your personal life may experience a bit of
exploitation. That's show biz.  If Amy lives ALL the way in England and we know about her husbands assault and battery jail sentence here, then you what I'm talking about.
Nothing is a secret when you become famous.
I would know. Did you know people think I smoke the marijuana plant? It's not true. I mean it might have been when I was alive, but I have been clean since I reappeared in Netsville. I must say that since I have been off the sauce, my memory has been a little less foggier.

Anyway...
Getting back to Ms Winehouse...I wonder if she ever sung a sing like this when she was younger...
Here is a little number I found in Netsville called
'dear mr. and ms. troublemaker'

Yes I'm in the Barrel

Hey Everybody! How y'all doin out there? It's Always nice here in Netsville. What? What did you just say?
Gas prices? Well I have no idea what that could mean, ya see...I'm inside the computer. I can travel as fast as a beam of sunshine if I wanted to. For free. But hold on a minute...lemme take look here...oh lordy...now I see what you're talkin' about. The gas prices seem to be rather unpleasant to look at. I can't remember ever havin' to spend THAT much money on it in my day. What kind of car needs THAT much gas, anyway?
The only car I ever really liked was when it was attached to a locomotive. You know they got one in Indianpolis that they made for little old me? Aint that sweet? My own locomotive!
Well...I guess that's what folks are gonna be doin' more often. Until they find out how to roll out the barrel for less. Oh that reminds me...I gotta little number that might be close
to how y'all might feel right about now. It's a tune that those nice people at muzic.com have up on their website.

Enjoy when you can...

Let's call the whole thing off!

Hello everybody! How are you doing today? I was just reading about the new presidential race.
America is gettin' ready for a very exciting moment in history.

Obama and McCain are already telling us their different opinions on what this country needs. The debates are starting to get serious and some of us are getting delirious! There is SO much to talk about now. The WAR is one. The ECONOMY is another. The FUEL situation is in dire need of SOME kinda change. Between all of these things that everyone is calling VERY important...I start to feel dizzy.

(I know what you mean Louis!)

It reminds me of a song I did a long time ago. A song about that particular moment when you just can't decide what exactly the best choice is. Because EVERYBODY got somethin' to say about EVERYTHING in their own way.
Sometimes I would say...with a big old smile...

Let's call the whole thing off!

Satchel's back!

Oh what a joy, what a JOY to be back in the swing O' things. Somebody has put one of my public domain songs on the internet! Now I can get back to what I was doin' back in 1938 when I wrote this little number : -play me-
Oh...
The sweet music...
So much to say, so much to say...and NOW I got all the time in the virtual world to say it! AND for us old timers...we got the mighty Google. Ah yes siree...when ever I need to know something, I just go to the mighty Google and ask it what ever I wanna know. And it always tells me what I was askin' about. Sometimes even more. It's what I always wished I had back when I was traveling SO much. I'm surprised that folks still go to school these days. With people runnin' round so busy tryin' to get things done. Hustlin' and bustlin'. Barely makin' time for themselves to enjoy the luxuries of sweet life. And if ya askin' me...I will always say it's the sweet sound of music. So bless muzic.com for playin' my song for all the wonderful children, mommies and daddies to enjoy. For FREE!
Now don't pay me no mind about that school thing I had
just mentioned. I know that it's important for the children to go to school.
To understand what it's going to be like in the future...ya oughtta have some education in your past. The great thing about school is the music programs.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but aint it sweet to go to school and pick up a horn and play somethin' all nice and romantic for your school sweetheart? It's better than what some of the riff raff is doin at lunchtime. Don't even wanna think about THAT stuff.
I'd rather think about music. That is what is so wonderful about this country, America...the music that they offer in the schools to all the children that wanna grow up and play like their uncle Satchmo!!
