Domestic Violence Is The Cornerstone Of The Blues

"The issue of domestic violence is to be added to the school timetable in England. But head teachers say schools are being asked to solve all of society's problems..."
(continue BBC article)

They could pay them teachers extra, for starters...

Hmmm...that is an important issue to be thinking about during the holidays. Maybe here in America we can look across the pond and realize what we need to be aware of. Especially during the holiday seasons when people are already stressed out.

Speaking of stressed out, you should hear this man wailin' away. It might be better to sing the blues than to wind up a domestic violence criminal. Lord knows that much is true.
Y'all hang in there this holiday season, ya hear?!
Ok?
Alrighty then...here is some Joe McCoy for ya...

There's No Sheriff In Netsville: Love Vs Fashion On Twitter

Hello everybody! How are you today? That good?
Heh heh heh...
Well, apparently...some folks don't feel that way. Some folks like to feel bad and then post their feelings on the internet. They often share their bad thoughts about other people. The problem is that, sometimes, those people sue the pants of that first person for slander! And then some lawyer makes a million dollars!
Aint that some misbehavin! There aint no Sheriff in Netsville...

Here's what they are sayin'at CNN news:

Legal experts said it's difficult for the law to keep up with emerging technology.

"Generally, it is at least five years behind technology as it is developing," said Andrea Matwyshyn, a professor at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School, who tracks the intersection of law and technology....

Pirate Radio To Rescue Us From Hi Tech Music?

Hey everybody? How are you doing today? Good? Have you heard about Pirate Radio? I'm talking about the new movie. Looks like a good cast. I hear it has a great sound track, too.
Speaking of music...

The radio stations these days play a lot of computerized music. All that kind of music is music that didn't have to be learned by anyone. It plays on command. At the press of a button. It's more art than music, these days. And constantly on display. And the young DJ's who do this kind of artful expression have made a huge money market for themselves. Good for them. Mean while...I hear the youngsters are starting to crave real music again. And when that starts to kick in to gear...oh what a wonderful world it will be...again!

Lakers Great Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Has Leukemia

Say it aint so! Not Kareem! Do you remember this great basketball player? Here's a refresher from Wikipedia:
"Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is an American retired basketball player. During his 20-year professional career in the NBA, from 1969 to 1989, he scored the highest points total of any player in league history (38,387), in addition to winning a record six Most Valuable Player Awards and six NBA championships." (More from Wiki)

The "skyhook" was his famous shot. At 7 ft 2inches tall, he could almost drop the ball into the hoop over his opponents. I hope his doctors don't drop the ball on him.
Good luck Kareem!
And speaking of "hooks" here's one from Russia With Love

Blues Legend: Muddy Waters

I figure since it's the rainy season I'd bring up blues guitar legend Muddy Waters. Why? Oh, I'm sure there are plenty of reasons. But one good reason to bring up this particular artist...his music.

Waters grew up in the cotton country of Mississippi and taught himself to play harmonica as a child. He took up the guitar somewhat later and eagerly absorbed the classic delta blues styles of Robert Johnson, Son House, and others. He gradually evolved a style of his own, aggressive and less purely lyrical, and won a reputation as a worthy successor to the legendary generation of bluesmen...(continue reading)

Yeah, he sure got his name around. Almost everybody knows his name.
Just think about all the blues legends we don't know about, though...
